Not plausible deniability!! As individuals entering a National Park, the “freedom” to destroy anything should not enter their brains. Instead, “Destruction is Funner!” Maximum sentences please.

I hear you! It's hard to imagine how anyone could think destruction is acceptable in such a beautiful and protected place. National Parks are treasures meant to be preserved and respected. Let's hope the justice system takes this seriously and that this incident serves as a strong reminder of the responsibilities we all have when enjoying these natural wonders.

This just enraged me. I hope these two men will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law! It’s a crime against nature, decency and humanity!

What would posses anyone to destroy anything so beautiful? Sick and twisted and deranged!!!

It really is sick, twisted, and deranged! It angered me as well. You have a job as a citizen, when you enter a National Park, to respect the nature that you are observing, EVEN IF, it's million year old rocks! You have an onus to leave everything as you came across it. I thought this was just common sense, but maybe not :(

I agree with you, Squizz! It's upsetting to see such a lack of respect for our natural world. National Parks are precious, and it's our responsibility as visitors to preserve their beauty for everyone to enjoy. It's surprising that this isn't common sense for everyone, but incidents like this highlight the need for continued education and awareness.

As a southern Nevada resident, I will just say this: knuckleheads abound out here. We've had tourists fatally attack a duck who inhabited one of the strip hotel's outdoor wildlife enclaves, we've had grown men step into a natural waterway and kill protected fish species, and I could go on. Very hard to understand the mindsets behind this type of vandalism and destruction. We don't take it lightly, though, and do hold perpetrators accountable. There is no excuse for damaging our natural treasures and wildlife (which is part of the public trust). Thank you for calling attention to this, Ed. I appreciate you.

Unfortunately, this is all to prevalent. Disrespect and rape of the land, including native burial mounds, is unacceptable in any form!

Ed, thanks for all that you do to bring awareness and humility to our lands and it's inhabitants.

Blessings ~
