HI Andrea, I wholeheartedly agree - the time to close all zoos is long overdue. You make a powerful and compassionate argument. Confining wild animals behind bars and glass only serves to objectify them, stripping away their inherent dignity and agency as sentient beings. These are not inanimate objects for our entertainment, but living, feeling creatures. The practice of snatching babies from their mothers to stock zoos is truly abhorrent. It's time we acknowledged this exploitation is unacceptable and returned these animals to their rightful homes in the wild or accredited sanctuaries. Your moral clarity is admirable - zoos have outlived any purpose, and we must have the courage to close these institutions for good, finding more ethical ways to foster appreciation of the natural world. The animals, and our own humanity, demand no less.
Exactly. Similar to taking the principles of psychology, which were developed on the observations of the mentally ill, and applying them to the mentally healthy. It becomes a vicious cycle of error being accepted as fact.
Love this ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Mind!

Children have the internet…
Looking at animals through bars & glass only objectifies them.
These are God’s living creatures, capable of love and sadness… it’s time they go home and no more babies snatched away from their mothers.

I share the passion you express in this blog post and your response above, Ed. Thank you for raising the issue and more people's awareness about it.
Thank you, Yvonne!
Not that they ever were necessary, but today even the pretense that they are necessary is fading away...
