Well articulated. Just don't have the time or bandwidth to respond to some of the mudslingers with statements like he is a wack if they are not open to delve into him. That's why I don't. It's a waste of time these days. But, a sensible discussion is worth it.

So to be clear, a lawyer who has literally, taken down Monsanto, has my respect.

Yes, you are right. Confusing people with facts doesn’t always open their minds. I think my diatribe was cut off, but today on substack was the article: "US government paid PR firm to track and vilify critics of GMOs and pesticides.” https://open.substack.com/pub/mole/p/us-government-paid-pr-firm-to-track?r=100zv1&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

The beat goes on.

I am delighted with his nomination. I disagree on a few things I'd heard about his beliefs, but I'm not afraid of systematic reviews of the evidence, and don't believe he will implement changes without doing so. All proper science should have to stand up to rigorous scrutiny periodically.

If the HHS scrutinised claims to half the level those of us in animal welfare are subject to, we would have a much more advanced health system.

Rfk jr is the only appointee of the Trump group of which I wholeheartedly endorse. Your article is excellent, Ed. But as the public has been conditioned to hate, you will no doubt suffer the slings & arrows, as well.

Those of us in support of Kennedy worry if Trump will actually keep his word allowing Rfk jr to fix our broken healthcare. And I worry re the direct ecological conflict of both the Biden & Trump campaign of “Drill, baby drill. “ Biden to date has done more oil drilling than at any time in history, more than any country in the world. In the pissing game, Trump, of course, sez he will drill more.

I hope that Kennedy can balance the good he plans on doing with the nature damage already in play. And that between he & Elon, they will figure out alternative, non-nature damaging means of energy.

I must add that I am gobsmacked at how much of the public are utterly programmed by the MSM propaganda that is PAID FOR BY BIG PHARM & PAID FOR BY POLITICAL OPPOSITION to malign an exceptional man, such as Rfk jr. As some who follow him know, Kennedy was for many years the golden child, with every article written about him full of praise, the “Hero of the Planet,” etc for all his environmental strides.

Then…when Rfk jr began the conversations & investigations into medicine & the resultant damages of some medications, the big pharm cartel & powers that be went ballistic on character assassination in every publication. Big money talks.

Do you remember how tobacco went after whistleblowers, particularly the man who advised that additional addictive ingredients were being added to cigarettes purposefully? His life & his family’s were threatened. The same is true for Rfk jr, yet he has pushed on in spite of the danger & all of the untruthful vitriol.

It is a sad day when you find out that those who are put in charge of our health & wealthfare, are led by greed. Rather than serving the public, they are serving themselves.

Precisely why I don't oppose his nomination. There is more good that can come out of this, especially for animal welfare. Thank you for this thoughtful and informative article, Ed; it makes some excellent points.

There's much that I respect and admire in your contributions to Substack, Ed, but this isn't one of them! I find it difficult to believe that any good will emerge from a Trump presidency.

I really needed this follow-up article on RFK….It has helped me take a broader, more positive view of him.

Thanks for your feedback, Yvonne. I'm very excited about the potential good RFK can do in this position. It will be revolutionary in a very good way.

Could this be a case of "when pigs fly"? He is serving in the Trump regime.

The vivid imagery of flying pigs has made this idiom memorable and widely used across different cultures. It has even inspired creative expressions like John Steinbeck’s use of "Pigasus," a winged pig symbolizing lofty aspirations despite limitations and overwhelming challenges. In that context, I appreciate your insight! ;-)
