We are almost certainly at risk for another viral pandemic in the future.
RFK’s crazy, unfounded beliefs regarding vaccines would render him unwilling to support accelerated development of effective vaccines in this critical situation.
To think that this reluctance would not affect people and animals is delusional .
He is in no way qualified to lead HHS.
As a physician I am terrified as are most of my colleagues.
And what about drilling on public lands, which will seriously impact wildlife?
I would love to see advances in food safety and elimination of animal testing.
But linking himself to a man who eats at McDonalds and drinks coke (and is obese)just does not seem consistent.
Dr. Wilson, you know how much I respect your opinion and admire the amazing animal welfare work you do! Can you tell me what part of Kennedy's remarks about vaccines in this video are crazy or unfounded? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLxBwIupF88
This country has been moving in the wrong direction for a very long time. Our establishment bureaucracies are fortified and they have captured the media and political class. We need disruptors now more than ever. I would very much like to chat with you again about your views in four years. I, for one, will be praying this bold effort to drain the swamp is successful.
I actually have an opposite view. I think linking himself to the current leader who actually has some power, obese or not, is the best way to make the changes we so desperately need. He now has the power to get in there and start clearing out the corruption. So it was a wise decision. And who better for the job than the man who has sued these corrupt agencies and won. He knows where the corruption is.
As for the vaccines, we all know now that they didn't work. Gates promised us they "are like magic" and work 95% of the time. We know nwk they work maybe 20% of the time and they do not prevent the spread. So these vaccines are not actually vaccines at all by definition.
Kennedy has repeatedly said he is not interested in taking away vaccines. He is interested in pre release safety testing and accountability of the companies that make them who have no incentive now.
Remember where this pandemic came from and who was responsible. Fauci. The man we followed like a hero was actually the man responsible for killing millions of people by investing a virus to be used for biological warfare. Kennedy wrote the book on it. And he's is all about killing corruption that caused this pandemic and future pandemics. So rather than supporting the accelerated development of dangerous drugs Kennedy will likely nip it at the bus preventing the viruses from being developed in the first place. It amazes me that even physicians can't see that.
I think this is a pretty fair unbiased assessment of Trump's pick.
RFK may say some things that sound nice, but he's an unabashed conspiracy theorist. Any time legitimate scientific evidence (conducted by actual scientists and peer-reviewed by other scientists) contradicts his own beliefs, he claims it's not true. I guess this random dude knows more than the experts. There are lots of issues with how the government handles environmental and animal welfare issues, but having someone in charge who doesn't understand or accept facts--like RFK, Trump, and most of Trump's other cabinet picks--sets a dangerous precedent. At the very least, an administration that has explicitly stated its intent to gut the very institutions that would hold their power in check means that the entire country will have to follow the decrees of these few people with little expertise and immense power.
Elise, I have found my readers to be generally open minded and optimistic. As such, we have to be careful we don't drink the Kool Aide administered to us by the media, which is funded by the pharmaceutical companies. It's best to get our information from the source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLxBwIupF88
What evidence do you have that he is a conspiracy theorist? Have you read his lawsuits? Do you know how much research goes into those? People use platitudes to knock someone down. I'd like to see you articulate that position.
Also, The Real Anthony Fauci is a MUST read. It is the most annotated book ever written, every one of the tens of thousand facts are sourced. You can tell the book is accurate because Kennedy has never been sued over it.
I think RFK Jr. has inherited some of his father's views; I wish him luck and success in taking on the huge corporate interests that have dominated American health and environmental policy. One does not have to agree with every policy position put out by RFK Jr., but one can agree that change is urgently necessary.
For example, I just read a report that three-quarters of Americans are overweight or obese. This speaks volumes of the kinds of unhealthy foods Americans are consuming, often pushed by food conglomerates, much to the detriment of the people.
The overweight and obesity rate is also very high here in Canada (about two-thirds). I am fortunate that I have always maintained a good and healthy weight. Diet and exercise (mainly walking in Nature) has always been my inclination.
Interesting piece. It always amazes me when people defend Fauci who all but admitted in his leaked emails that he is responsible for millions of deaths in his franken creation funded with tax payer dollars. How many deaths is RFKjr responsible for? His book is accurate and the citations are there. Clairmont are litigators. Ask yourself why they never sued Kennedy if they feel so strongly of hi libel.
Eliza, read the book, or just read the footnotes. All the sources going back to the 70s are all available in one place. I picked up that book with what seems the very same cynical disposition and have found it difficult to refute. Let me know if it has the same impact on you. I’m not sure where you are getting your information about Fauci but perhaps you should look into all the sources.
He still claims vaccines cause autism, though there's no evidence. He claims fluoride causes a litany of diseases, though there's no evidence. He claims 5G cell towers cause cancer and other diseases, though there's no evidence. You can read this in his book or hear him talk about it on podcasts. I'm not denying that he may have done some good things in the past, but today he refuses to accept evidence that contradicts his own beliefs.
Actually, Elise, he only claims there is very little curiosity among our Public Health officials, who are funded by Big Pharma, to find out why autism has gone from one in 100,000 cases to one in 22 in America. Kennedy is a proponent of full disclosure which is the very definition of science. Censorship and ridicule are the tools of Big Pharma and their media spokespersons. Did you know Pfizer pay Cooper Anderson $1 million per year? It may actually be quite a bit more. I'm being conservative... ;-)
I'd think the big jump in autism case numbers is diagnosis, not incidence. Decades ago parents and doctors did not recognize the signs. Think of the people we knew decades ago who were never able to become successful adults, they lived with their parents into middle age. Nobody knew what was wrong with them. How many were undiagnosed autistics?
5G frequencies heat your cells. Like when you hold your cell phone to your head to long you can feel it, right? The evidence may be anecdotal but don't be surprised down the road when research shows, yes. There is a lot of money behind transmissions and it is protected. There is a Doc called Wild Wild Space, check that out.
I took microbiology just for this reason; how does the immune system work. Vaccines can trigger a "confused" immune response especially by the suspension materiel used (like mercury at one time. It's not a conspiracy. Autoimmune is real... If you have seborrhea/eczema, arthritis, etc. are good examples.
I watched a lot of his lectures and I read some of his case summaries. A lawyer doesn't blurt statements out because in court you will get hammered aka lose.
Not sure what you are trying to say with that link. The conclusion on that page reads:
"Many substances are healthy and beneficial when taken in small doses but may cause harm at high doses. More research is needed to better understand if there are health risks associated with low fluoride exposures. This NTP monograph may provide important information to regulatory agencies that set standards for the safe use of fluoride. It does not, and was not intended to, assess the benefits of fluoride."
So a big nothing burger. Also anyone with a passing knowledge of science and medicine and can tell you have zero idea what you are talking about. "Autoimmune is real"? Dude, what? You're just throwing up words and names of diseases to make it seem like you are making a point. You aren't. If you don't know what you are talking about, you don't have to talk.
Well, someone who uses shit talk in her profile leads me to say you're not worth it. You try to have a civil discussion and you get an ass like this...
I understand that you're mad that you've repeatedly been proven incorrect but that doesn't mean I am not being civil. You do not know what you are talking about and it's very clear. That's not my fault. I'm out here trying to save you from misinformation and propaganda. But you'd rather pretend I am unreasonable than examine your own resistance to facts that run counter to your feelings, even when those facts reside in the links you send out. Bless your heart.
How do you define conspiracy theorist? It's a phrase which is so oft used now, and repeated ad nauseam as a method of silencing a dissenting voice. I am now genuinely curious when I see or hear someone use this term, how they personally define it. My curiosity is not meant to be oppositional because we are all entitled to our opinions.....kind of, these days, but to ponder why the term is used now to define someone in a negative light. Why can't we theorize anymore? Aren't theories we subscribe to or theories we speculate upon one of the ways we invent things, come to solutions and conclusions? And, do conspiracies not actually take place in operational systems to include governance both here in the states, and all over the world? It seems to me there are many worthy ways in which to conduct a vetting process for Kennedy or anyone really, But referring to him as as a conspiracy theorist doesn't seem to be one of them. At least not a careful or thoughtful one.
A conspiracy theorist is a person who intentionally spreads false and inflammatory information. RFK Jr has a decades-long record of doing this. It’s not up for debate. You either can look at the information, the decades of statements, speeches, and work that clearly show this man has absolutely no basis in reality or you can ignore all the evidence. It’s available from hundreds of different reputable sources. Don’t fall for sanewashing.
It's honestly shocking to see someone who has been in charge of animal shelters---and thus been responsible for managing herd health---supporting a vaccine denier. And it's shocking to see someone with RFK's repugnant history with animals praised for somehow being a friend to them.
Educated people should not be defending this crackpot. Full stop.
Eliza, thank you for sharing your perspective. I contend that educated people should avail themselves of all the facts. Kennedy has never denied the importance of vaccines. He has only questioned the reasoning for Big Pharma to be able to manufacture vaccines with NO liability for doing harm or causing deaths. He only advocates that they be safe and effective , which is what Big Pharma claims, but he goes a set further and asks for all proof of their safety and efficacy to be made available to the people getting them.
That’s not true. He found Children’s Health Defense, one of largest anti-vax organizations in the world. His record is very clear to anyone willing to engage with reality and actual facts.
I can understand why you might feel conflicted about this nomination, especially given his controversial stance on vaccines and the stories surrounding his past interactions with animals. However, it’s important to look at the bigger picture and consider the full scope of his work and intentions.
First, regarding vaccines: Kennedy has not denied the importance of vaccines outright. Rather, he has been a strong advocate for transparency and safety in the pharmaceutical industry, calling for more rigorous testing and accountability. His concerns stem from a desire to ensure that public health decisions are based on sound science and free from corporate influence—something I believe we can all agree is critical. As someone who has managed herd health in animal shelters, I understand the importance of vaccines in preventing disease outbreaks, but I also recognize the need for public trust in these interventions. Kennedy’s demand for greater scrutiny of vaccines is aimed at restoring that trust, not dismantling it.
As for his history with animals, I acknowledge that some stories from his past may raise eyebrows. However, it’s important to note that people can grow and evolve. Kennedy’s environmental advocacy over the years has demonstrated a deep commitment to protecting ecosystems and wildlife from corporate pollution—work that aligns with my own values as an animal welfare advocate. While falconry and other practices may not align perfectly with modern animal rights perspectives, his broader efforts to reduce harmful chemicals and pollutants will undoubtedly benefit both humans and animals alike.
I believe that we should judge leaders by their capacity to enact meaningful change rather than focusing solely on past controversies. Kennedy’s nomination represents an opportunity to reform a public health system that has been compromised by corporate interests, which is why I support him in this role.
I appreciate your engagement with this issue, and I hope this response helps clarify my position.
I question how somebody with a reputation as poor as his can be considered to have “a capacity to enact real change”. I would be concerned that his association with an objective I believe in (e.g., ending product testing on animals) would tend to discredit it rather than increase interest in or support for it.
Thank you, Paolo, for sharing your concerns. I understand why RFK Jr.’s reputation might raise some doubts, especially given the controversies surrounding him. However, I believe his capacity to enact real change lies in his willingness to challenge powerful interests that have long controlled public health and environmental policies. While his past may be polarizing, his track record as an environmental lawyer shows that he’s willing to take on big industries and fight for transparency—something sorely needed in both public health and animal welfare.
I also think it’s important to separate the person from the cause. Even if some disagree with Kennedy on certain issues, his leadership could still bring much-needed attention to objectives like ending product testing on animals. Sometimes, having someone unafraid to ruffle feathers is exactly what’s needed to push important conversations forward. Thanks again for your thoughtful input!
Thank you, Michelle. His record on vaccines speaks for itself, and although the Republican talking point seems to be that he's only worried about making them "safe and effective," that's absolutely not borne out by his history.
I agree. Robert f. Kennedy Jr. Is a great step in the right direction. I'm tired of hearing all this anti-vaxxer and conspiracy theory nonsense.
If your father and Uncle were both murdered while in office, one might have conspiracy theories as well. And as it turns out, many of his theories prove to be conspiracy facts as often is the case. He's been quite clear on his stance of vaccines. I'm very impressed with his views on antidepressants and antipsychotics contributing to violence upon withdrawal.
I am however not convinced that he's going to champion animal rights because he is a falconer and he's been very clear on the methods he uses to train falcons being quite cruel. That aside, I think he's a great person for this role and I look forward to the change to come.
Timothy, thank you for your thoughtful response. I agree with you that RFK Jr. is a step in the right direction, especially when it comes to challenging the entrenched interests of Big Pharma and the industrial food complex. The "anti-vaxxer" and "conspiracy theory" labels often oversimplify and dismiss his broader concerns about transparency, corporate influence, and public health. Given his family’s tragic history, it’s understandable that he would be skeptical of certain narratives, and as you pointed out, many of his so-called "theories" have indeed turned out to be grounded in fact.
His views on antidepressants and antipsychotics are particularly important as we continue to grapple with the mental health crisis in this country. The potential link between these medications and violent behavior upon withdrawal is a serious issue that deserves more attention, and I’m glad Kennedy is willing to address it head-on.
Regarding your concern about his stance on animal rights, I understand where you're coming from. As an animal welfare advocate myself, I’ve also looked into his practices as a falconer. While falconry is a traditional practice with deep historical roots, it’s true that some methods can be controversial from an animal rights perspective. However, I believe Kennedy’s broader commitment to environmental protection and reducing harmful chemicals in our ecosystems will ultimately benefit wildlife and animal welfare overall.
In any case, I share your optimism about the positive change Kennedy could bring to HHS. His willingness to challenge powerful interests and fight for public health reform is exactly what we need at this moment. Let’s hope his leadership brings about the transparency and accountability that has been sorely lacking in our health institutions for far too long!
We aren't skeptical of him because of his family history. We don't trust him because of his decades-long history of misinformation, denying science, and spreading harmful anti-science rhetoric. His lies are long and well documented from hundreds of sources. Lord. As a supposed environmentalist, he held a bunch of stock in oil and gas companies until he got called out for it, said he sold them, but won't show any proof. The emperor has no clothes. You are ruining your credibility stumping for this man.
I'm very worried about the conspiracy theories that he believes in affecting his work. He believes that vaccines cause autism, they don't as you know. I don't want vaccines to be "taken off the market" because of his beliefs, because this will harm the most venerable. Children, Elders, and those that are immunocompromised.
Did you know what happened inside Neuralink with animals?
Actually, vegan Tulsi Gabbard, who will briefing Trump every morning, will probably be the best bet to have a word in Elon's ear about the monkey experiments.
Paul, I don't think there is anybody involved in this conversation unfamiliar with the sorrowful primate experiments conducted by Musk's companies. Let's remember that all of the drug companies the upcoming administration is challenging do the same.
Ed, I'll admit I'm surprised to hear anyone defend RFK Jr. - but you raise good points about the power of the drug and food producers' control over the FDA. My first inkling of this was when (years ago) I learned that the FDA's nutritional "Plate" (previously called the triangle, it's gone thru a few iterations) was largely due to lobbying by agribusiness, who said we had to eat lots of meat and dairy. And it's disturbing to think school lunch programs are largely controlled by the same interests. That said, I'm concerned about the impact that RFK Jr possibly leading HSS could have on health for everyone. If vaccines are no longer required for children attending public schools, we'll soon see a return of diseases wiped out decades ago - measles, polio. Many people alive today are too young to have known a pre-vaccine world when these diseases were rampant.
Jan, I completely understand your concerns, especially when it comes to the potential impact on public health if vaccine requirements were to change. Vaccines have undeniably played a crucial role in eradicating diseases like polio and measles, and I agree that we must be careful not to undo that progress.
That said, I believe the heart of RFK Jr.'s message is about ensuring transparency and safety in public health decisions, rather than eliminating vaccines altogether. His focus is on holding powerful industries accountable—whether it's Big Pharma or agribusiness—and making sure that public health policies truly serve the people, not corporate interests. Like you, I was also disturbed to learn about the influence of agribusiness on nutritional guidelines and school lunches. It’s clear that we need leaders who are willing to challenge these entrenched systems.
I think Kennedy’s leadership could bring much-needed reform to the FDA and other agencies, ensuring that they operate with integrity and prioritize public health over profits. But I agree—any changes to vaccine policy must be handled with extreme care to protect the health of all Americans.
Very brave of you, Ed, to acknowledge how much good RFK may do. Just in case anybody wonders why somebody like Ed may be supporting somebody they have been told is "anti vax" and totally nuts, here is a clip of what Kennedy has actually said about vaccines, which is better to rely on than what the media, almost entirely funded by Big Pharma, has said he has said. It includes, "I don't want to get rid of vaccines. If you want to take a vaccine you should be able to. But we need good science and that is all I have asked for." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLxBwIupF88
Thank you, Karen, and thank you for the link you shared. It is amazing how easily even the critical thinkers of the Substack set buy the Big Pharma funded MSM's depiction of their biggest threat to profits. It is good to hear what Kennedy has to say for himself. Everyone should listen to his presidential campaign announcement. It is perhaps one of the greatest American speeches ever delivered.
The media is entirely funded by Big Pharma? You know that you actually have to cite sources and provide evidence for your claims not just link propaganda. Kennedy, the founder of a prominent anti-vaccine activist group, has repeatedly questioned the safety and effectiveness of routine vaccinations, such as those for hepatitis B and the flu. In particular, he has reiterated a thoroughly debunked theory that the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine causes autism. The theory is tied to research from the ‘90s that was later discredited and retracted; its author, Andrew Wakefield lost his medical license. Many subsequent studies have found no link between the vaccine and autism.
Kennedy has also referred to the Covid vaccine as “the deadliest vaccine ever made,” despite data showing it’s overwhelmingly safe. Don’t fall for misinformation.
Michelle, thank you for sharing your thoughts. When you have a chance, listen to the video Karen shared in the post above. It is about as clear a statement Kennedy could ever make about his stance on vaccines. With respect to the media being captured by Big Pharma, check this out. Big Pharma does not buy advertising to sell drugs. None of us watch those commercials and feel compelled to buy their products. They buy advertising to control the content the media presents: https://youtu.be/210bHotqzFM?si=ea3BH7VFpWRJE-97
Yeah, he starts lying right at 1:37. He has repeatedly, for years, been vocally anti-vax. His record is long, obvious, and well documented. He can try and spin it all he wants when he has an interview on a national platform but reality is reality. He founded Children's Health Defense is one of the largest anti-vax organizations in the world. Please don't fall for obvious propaganda.
I am not ignorant to the outsized roll Big Pharma has in our lives and government. They are in desperate need of regulation but RFK Jr has no medical or scientific training. Equating science and facts with "Big Pharma" is wild and he'll throw the baby right out with the bath water. So many of RFK Jr's talking points are easily refuted with just a cursory knowledge of medicine and science. Pretending Big Pharma control the media is very The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Don't support conspiracy theorists. It degrades your hard work.
Michelle, you write that he has repeatedly, for years, been vocally "anti-vax." I would be truly interested to see that in his unedited words, rather than in Big-pharma-funded interpretations of what he has said. I mean that. If you can find it, I want to see it. He is often quoted as saying "No vaccine is safe and effective" but if one looks at where that quote comes from, watches it in context, you see that the point he is making is that there is no drug out there that has zero negative side effects. In the very same interview he says that he believes there to be vaccines that do more good than harm -- in other words that should be on the market. I don't write the above to suggest that he is perfect, but rather that people who have been persuaded by the major media that he is an anti-vax nutter should listen to him directly. And again, if you find video of him make blanket anti-vax statements that you can share, in context, I really would love to see them, as I am always interested in the truth.
No. I am going by his decades of words, actions, and the organizations he founded. There are hundreds of different sources for this information. He is not a reliable narrator and repeatedly lies when confronted with his record and actions. There is so much evidence and your blindness to it is alarming. Please don't fall for obvious propaganda.
Pretending? Which part of that compilation above implies big pharma does not control the media? The media here is beholden to its advertisers, unlike in most other countries where it's illegal.
It sounds like you have a very limited view of what media is just. If you just want to focus on cable tv networks, which I assume had the most Big Pharma revenue coming in, it’s still not true. Procter and Gamble and Disney are the biggest advertisers. Facts over feelings please.
Hi Michelle. I didn't cite a source for the media being funded by Big Pharma (I wrote "almost" entirely and note that you tweaked my actual stance) because I thought anybody could see that if they just turn on CNN and MSNBC for half an hour and watch the proportion of ads that are for pharmaceuticals. I think if folks take that in, and then learn that one of the top things on RFKs agenda is to ban pharmaceutical advertising (as it is banned in most other countries) they will understand that RFK is threatening the media's livelihood and will therefore not have expectations that the media is portraying him fairly - which is why it is important to listen to him directly. Ed Boks mentioned the speech where he declared his run for president but I think one of the most important speeches ever made was when he made the painful decision to join Trump, believing that to be the only hope of doing something about the US health crisis, which is caused by the same industries that torture billions of animals.
But alas, it's not true. Procter and Gamble and then Disney were the two biggest advertisers on cable tv in 2023. If you go off digital ads, it's Apple. Those are facts. Yes, pharmaceutical companies shouldn't be allowed to adverse on TV, it's perverse. But pretending they run the world and RFK Jr is a savior just isn't based in reality. You're just fear-mongering based on your perception. Not reality.
I totally agree on RFK JR. I read some of his case summaries. He does excellent work. He can articulate his position from science and fact. Where are the liberals? Where are the people who care about their health, their children's health etc.? No one better to lead this department. Now we wait and see...
They can tell he has zero clue what he’s talking about. He told Louisiana lawmakers in 2021 that the coronavirus vaccine was the “deadliest vaccine ever made.” He’s a quack.
RFK Jr.’ stance on vaccines would eradicate populations of children and others before they reach maturity. While your point is valid, consider the whole view, not just the appealing one in terms of animal welfare with which I agree.
Judith, Kennedy's position on vaccines has been so mischaracterized that I find it helpful to hear what he thinks from him directly. Listen to this and let me know what you think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLxBwIupF88
As someone who was injured by the Covid jab (not a sterilizing vaccine but a subpar genetic therapy) as were many others severely, I extensively researched the entire constellation of medical fraud, gain-of-function research that produced engineered transmissibility of virus, collusion of government health agencies, censorship of those harmed by Covid jabs, including a VAERS system designed not to accept injury reports and world leading virologists who managed to educate those who would listen, a non-sterilizing vaccine does not immunize. So the "Safe and effective" Fauci mantra referring to the initial jab was always a lie as we now know for those who on their 12th booster according to recommendations. Further, instructing cells to manufacture dummy spike proteins (tricking the virus) delivered by lipid nanoparticles that can migrate anywhere is highly inflammatory resulting in unprecedented cases of myocarditis even in children and sudden deaths due to stroke and blood clots, triggering many immune dysfunction conditions. Fauci has knowingly perpetuated monstrous lies and profited handsomely RFK Jr. has clarified over and over he is not an anti-vaxxer but rather big pharma has been corrupting public health so "real" science should be evaluating products. Settling huge lawsuits, big pharma caused the opioid epidemic marketing synthetic heroin as non-addictive that society and communities have not recovered from . The childhood vaccine schedule is up to 72 (!!) and the American public is swamped with drug advertisements with severe side effects. The system is corrupt and RFK will undoubtedly do his best to make corrections. Good for him but I feel sorry for the big money interests that will relentlessly attack him.
Carmen, I am so sorry for your covid-jab related injury. You are among millions and how this story is being suppressed is criminal. RFK has promised to not only expose the clinical trial results of this product but of all vaccines. We really need to pray God protect him. Thank you for your courage and for sounding the alarm so articulately.
Michelle, the covid shot is not a vaccine because it doesn't kill the virus. Secondly, the data coming in is astounding in the cause of inflammation: "The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a significant increase in vaccine reactogenicity, and most people experience adverse reactions after immunization. A survey has found that 65% of participants experience adverse reactions, whereas only several studies have reported severe effects, such as myocarditis, pericarditis, and anemia."
Someone very big in the Animal Rescue/Industry lost his wife to the vaccine from a heart attack, verified by vaccine injury doctors. Their treatment got her out of the wheel chair and walking again but her heart was too damaged.
Paul, again, you don't know what you are talking about. Vaccines don't kill viruses. That's not how they work at all, COVID or otherwise. And the conclusion at the end of the study you linked and cherry-picked your stats from? Right here:
"Most reported adverse effects are minor, and very few deaths have been reported. Despite the risks, vaccination remains the most efficient method for fighting the pandemic's broad effects. The benefits of vaccination extend beyond individual protection, because widespread immunization contributes to herd immunity and prevents the virus's spread."
So stop fear-mongering around science and medicine you don't understand.
Bro, he hit a bear cub and dumped its body in Central Park. He chopped off the head of a dead whale with a chainsaw and drop with it for 5 hours on top of his car. What in the hell are you talking about?
This man in a lunatic and no about of sane washing will change that. All environmentalists, including his former colleagues oppose him and say he’s become a radicalized conspiracy theorist in the last 20 years. Do better than this propaganda.
It's important to acknowledge that Robert F. Kennedy Jr., like many individuals, has had personal struggles in the past, particularly with addiction during his youth. However, it’s equally important to recognize that people can grow and evolve. Kennedy has been sober for decades and has dedicated much of his life to environmental advocacy and public health issues.
While some of the stories you mentioned may have circulated, they are often taken out of context or exaggerated. Regardless, Kennedy's record as an environmental lawyer speaks for itself. He has fought tirelessly against corporate pollution and has been a champion for clean water, air, and environmental justice. His leadership at organizations like Riverkeeper and his work on landmark environmental cases have earned him respect in many circles, even if some former colleagues may disagree with his more recent positions.
As for the claim that he has become a "radicalized conspiracy theorist," it's worth noting that Kennedy’s skepticism about certain public health policies stems from a desire for greater transparency and accountability within regulatory agencies. While his views on vaccines have been controversial, they are part of a broader critique of corporate influence over public health—a concern shared by many Americans today.
Ultimately, Kennedy’s nomination to lead HHS is about reforming a system that many believe has been compromised by corporate interests. It’s understandable that people have strong opinions about his past and present views, but it’s also important to consider the full scope of his career and the potential positive impact he could have in this role.
I appreciate your engagement with this topic, and I hope this response provides some additional perspective on why many—including myself—see RFK Jr.’s nomination as an opportunity for meaningful change in public health policy.
There are lots of experienced and intelligent people in this country who espouse all of the good things about RFK Jr. without being crazypants chaos agents. It is difficult not to question the judgment of the people who are excited about this appointment.
No. Those are real facts. He's on record telling the bear story in great detail and the whale story was told by his daughter who was there to a reporter in 2012. He has never claimed any of these instances were related to his drug use.
His record as a lawyer and person is exactly what I am worried about. Many of his former colleagues and organizations have spoken out against him because of his radicalization and his malleably relationship with the truth and facts. He's an opportunist who is happy to auction his credibility off to the highest bidder. He's done it for decades. Don't fall for it.
Michelle, I have devoted my life to animal rights and don't pretend to care more about humans than about other animals. And I am happy to go on record as saying that while the choices RFK made regarding the bear and whale corpses were distasteful, I am sure neither the bear nor whale cared much. He is in big trouble for how passionately he has criticized pig CAFOs, and I am much more interested in polices that would prevent the torture of billions of animals throughout their lives than in the disrespect to a couple of sweet animal's corpses after their death. I think that's something worth thinking about.
He hit the bear with his car. I bet it cared. And his criticisms of pig CAFOs was over 20 years ago. His record since shows no absolutely no interest in animal rights. He wants to legalize raw milk and says he drinks it exclusively. He claims to have eaten so much tuna that he gave himself mercury poisoning. It feels like you are grasping at straws so you can continue to support him just because. All the evidence and reality are against you. You are allowed to change your mind.
Michelle, with all due respect, he did not hit the bear with his car and I am sure you don't want to be guilty of spreading misinformation. I think you might want to relisten to the story. As for "You are allowed to change your mind," yes, one of my favorite lines is, "If you can't change your mind, are you sure you still have one?" I am always open to changing my mind but that is unlikely to happen when I am arguing with somebody who gets wrong a little detail like whether RFK killed that poor bear. So at this point I will take my leave and we can both agree that we are open to changing our minds.
Wow, my mistake. The person directly in front of him hit the bear. He just drove around with it in his car for hours then dumped it in a park. Very normal. There’s a mountain of evidence that shows he has no regard for animal rights or a human health. It’s interesting how your commitments to facts comes and goes, depending on whether they support your agenda or not. Read some actual, trustworthy sources on RFK Jr’s record, not his stump speeches. He’s unwell.
I understand that personal allegations can raise concerns, and it’s important to take them seriously. However, as far as I know, the specific allegations you mentioned have not been substantiated and remain unproven. It’s always best to wait for all the facts before drawing conclusions, especially when it comes to personal matters.
That said, my support for RFK Jr. is based on his potential to bring much-needed reform to public health and challenge the powerful interests that have long dominated our regulatory systems. His focus on transparency and accountability is something I believe can benefit everyone, regardless of personal controversies.
In fact it is about as hypocritical as it gets.
I think this is a pretty fair unbiased assessment of Trump's pick.
https://youtu.be/dZBM9FI9uGY?si=TKKPo12yjlcjMhMB
Yes. Great book. And full of citations and evidence.
You've got to be kidding. It is well established that that book is full of untruths and half-truths: https://claremontreviewofbooks.com/whats-up-doc/
"Nobody sued him, so it must be true!" is one of the more dystopian sentences I've read today.
Not sure where you're getting your "information" about Dr. Fauci, but perhaps you should look into other sources.
I'm sure that's partially true and should be factored in.
Good points, Elise.
Here is something:
https://ntp.niehs.nih.gov/whatwestudy/assessments/noncancer/completed/fluoride
You're projecting everything the current administration is already doing in anticipation that Trump and RFKjr will do the same.
I think this is a pretty fair unbiased assessment from Rising https://youtu.be/dZBM9FI9uGY?si=TKKPo12yjlcjMhMB
His record is very clear to anyone willing to engage with reality and actual facts.
https://apnews.com/article/robert-f-kennedy-vaccines-trump-rfkjr-7f8dcb25de76a5a70710d22bbc63f6fa
"I believe that we should judge leaders by their capacity to enact meaningful change rather than focusing solely on past controversies"
That's a ridiculously low standard, but I guess that's the direction this country's headed, if last week was any indication.
If you the time and inclination to hear RFK Jr respond to your criticisms and concerns directly listen to this: https://youtu.be/AUz1sTrkzyY
He’s not a reliable narrator of his own views and actions. He repeatedly lies. Why would I trust him over my own eyes and common sense?
I agree. Robert f.
You are ruining your credibility stumping for this man.
https://www.politico.com/news/2024/03/25/rfk-jr-family-trust-oil-gas-00148846
I'm very worried about the conspiracy theories that he believes in affecting his work. He believes that vaccines cause autism, they don't as you know. I don't want vaccines to be "taken off the market" because of his beliefs, because this will harm the most venerable. Children, Elders, and those that are immunocompromised.
Did you know what happened inside Neuralink with animals?
https://futurism.com/neoscope/terrible-things-monkeys-neuralink-implants
Squizz, here is what Kennedy actually thinks about vaccines:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLxBwIupF88
Here is the case he filed with the Children's Health Defense:
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/principal-brief-filed-landmark-case-163700936.html
It's not him. it's the evidence.
And what about all the harm done w by the Children’s Health Defense? They’re one of the biggest anti-vax organizations in the world.
Perhaps RFK Jr. should check up on Elon Musk’s monkeys and the brain implants they received in experiments with his Neuralink device.
Actually, vegan Tulsi Gabbard, who will briefing Trump every morning, will probably be the best bet to have a word in Elon's ear about the monkey experiments.
Great point, Karen!
I agree with you here. Not. a fan of Elon from what I know of him and check tesladeaths.com
How many of today's young and middle aged people have seen a polio patient in an iron lung?
Exactly. I'm all for safe vaccines and science but this anti-vax shit has been tolerated for way too long. It's bananas and not grounded in reality.
Please don't fall for obvious propaganda.
https://www.factcheck.org/2023/11/scicheck-rfk-jr-incorrectly-denies-past-remarks-on-vaccine-safety-and-effectiveness/
Facts over feelings please.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/191668/top-10-advertisers-on-us-cable-tv-networks/#:~:text=In%202022%2C%20Procter%20%26%20Gamble%20spent,expenditures%20of%20485%20million%20dollars.
You are doing the lord's work here, Michelle, and I just want to say I appreciate it. I can't believe so many people are falling for this.
That sponsorship of media should be illegal. I hope RFKjr kills that for good.

Very well said Michelle
Bang on. Exactly. It's amazing how the media turns that into anti-vax conspiracy theorist.
No it's not. He's just a liar when it's convenient.
https://www.factcheck.org/2023/11/scicheck-rfk-jr-incorrectly-denies-past-remarks-on-vaccine-safety-and-effectiveness/
Veronica, you are on to something. "Conspiracy theorist" has become a pejorative specifically designed to shut people up.
Again, it's data, not RFK.

Also, very recently, he showed a jaw-dropping lack of judgment with what he’s done to less-than-half-his-age Olivia Nuzzi (and his wife, of course) — https://people.com/rfk-jr-wanted-to-possess-and-impregnate-journalist-olivia-nuzzi-her-ex-alleges-in-court-filing-8728707. He’s not a good egg. But he’s a fit for Trumpworld.
